521 /510 external volt reg

MY 521 was popping IGNition fuses and disconnected the Volt Reg  stopped blowing the fuse swapped it out. FIXED

Found these on ebay if anybody needs a spare Made in Japan best price around

I took off my good Mechanical Japan made one off and put a NEW solid state  Autozone VR728 I had in box. Well it lasted a.week  Now I put nother solid state Wells brand in there.  Well see how it works.  Instruction say make sure grounded well otherwise thay can pop.

 

The mechanical Japan made ones are hard to find or very expansive

the silver one from Autozone are the weak ones DO NOT BUY. or ground really good otherwiswe they will pop.

I have a digital volt meter in CigLighter spot. when the VR goes bad it will over volt and most people will not know. when overvolt you can put lights and heater on and the alternator does not load down in voltage. thats how you know they bad. Most people wont know till battery bulges if lucky the Alt Light might come ON

 

 

 

the older mechanical one is a Bosche boxed repackeage Japan made unit. which are better(with resisitor

And tricky to adjust, Go electronic if you can. I did 20, years ago and it still works, [I do have the instructions on how to adjust a mechanical regulator,]

Crap I threw mine away But be nice to see and how they done unless soembody Youtubed a datsun VR(I havent looked
