1973 620 Pickup reverse light hook up?

Recommended Posts

Hello All:

Getting a 73 620 pickup running after sitting for over 20 years. Looking at the manual transmission from the underside there are two switches that are side by side. My manual shows one as the backup light switch but have no idea what the other is? Neither are hooked up with what looks like a group of 4 wires 2 red and 2 yellow hanging down . One of the switches looks like it has a rubber cover with the other being maybe a gold color with no cover. They both look like they have poles where wires hook to them in some way. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Joe

The two switches should be on top of each other with the reverse switch being the lowest on the transmission. The reverse light switch should have two, Red/Black stripe wires on the harness going to it. The one above it is the 4th gear switch and has to do with the emissions system and retards the ignition timing in all gears but 4th.
