Annoying too as the alternator is a new rebuild from OReilly which has been sitting in a box for years (alt looks pristine). Luckily I still have the original box and receipt.. from 2013. Going to see if they will still honor the lifetime warranty tomorrow. If not Rockauto will be getting an order. Hopefully I can get this sorted tomorrow as with the nicer weather I'd like to do some more test drives this weekend. Still waiting on license plate and tags to show up too. Update: well they don't stock that alternator anymore as the part number is discontinued. However, they were able to find the transaction from 2013, which I was wrong wasn't a purchase receipt but instead was from the last time I warrantied the alternator. Anyways the guy hooked me up and found an equivalent model alternator and got it shipped in to pickup tomorrow morning. For some price comparisons: the Ultima reman 14255 cost $49.99 when I bought however long ago, cost $84.99 in 2013 when I warranty returned it and today they returned it for an alternator that is $169.99. 🤣 Edit Update 2: New alternator installed and holding at 14.5v..very nice. Dguy210
Been a nice day out so tearing around the back roads in the 510 doing shake down runs. Basically just minor stuff at this point, been running pretty well and the Z22 is surprisingly peppy. Feel pretty confident I could probably just get in the car and drive somewhere at this point. Still waiting on my tags and plates to show up though. Edited April 19 by Dguy210 4 Quote Link to comment

Dguy210
Trunk currently, just some carpet slapped in and a couple fiberboard dividers made up. Fuel cell sits behind carpet and the piece is attached with magnets to cover the tank, can be quickly pulled down and then reattached after filling with gasoline. Quote Link to comment
Dguy210
Long shakedown run today as the weather was nice. Car is basically ready for the summer shows. I'll keep doing some minor stuff here and there, but is basically finished for now minus a few pieces of trim. 3 Quote Link to comment
Rustbin
The modern car looks kind of bloated and fat next to your 510. 1 Quote Link to comment

Rustbin
When my Toyota wagon was on the road people were always looking down on me, but I could park easier than any of them. 1 Quote Link to comment
Dguy210
TLDR; installed air shocks on the rear. Brand: Monroe Max-Air MA810 air shocks fit the 510 sedan, available from Amazon. In preparation for Powerland I've been doing some driving around town including a few grocery runs with my son who just got his permit (we're both 6ft+ so not small people). What we found is with the trunk loaded up with groceries and both of us in the car we were seeing some significant rear end sag. Rolling the fenders helped but I wanted a better solution. So on went some air shocks which are not something I've ever used on a car before. I stuck with the simple single port design but will probably upgrade to a double style later. After routing some lines and chasing a few leaks I'm really liking how much more control of ride height these give especially as with camping gear for 2 people I expect the 510 to be really fully loaded as we will both be going. Just finished getting these in so the test ride will wait until tomorrow. 3 Quote Link to comment
Rustbin
I used air shocks once, they were good for keeping the ass end up but I felt it hindered handling when doing spirited driving, (aka driving stupid fast on twisty windy roads). 1 Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
I need airshocks on my 1000. i really want to be able to drive around with both my twin boys, but when one gets in rear it squats enough that it rubs hard. So can only drive when i don't have both with me, which totally sucks when need for a afternoon hamburger calls. With the tiny 13" they wouldn't rub, but now with taller 14" they rub going straight down driveway. If it matters the baby is 5'10" 185+ other that rides in front is 235 haha Edited 23 hours ago by bananahamuck 3 Quote Link to comment
