my datsun 510 turn signals don’t work

my turn signals won’t work but when i have the flashers on they work but won’t work by them selfs any one knows what to do?

The flashers and turn signal have there own flasher unit....

Sounds like 1 died...

You could try swapping the 2...

If only one side then either the front or rear bulb is burned out on that side.

 

Both left and right sides? Yes swap the signal with the 4 way flasher units. If the problem switches to the 4 way flashers then the signal one is bad.

Clean fusebox, clean turn signal switch & regrease & most importantly to me, replace BOTH turn signal & hazard flasher units with Novita brand heavy duty electronic flashers, both same part #EL12.............do BOTH!!  I buy from AutoZone, but perhaps can find elsewhere!

Do the red charge light and red oil pressure light come on with the ignition key? If yes then the fuse is ok.

 

Turn signals also have to pass through the emergency 4 way flasher switch so they can be disconnected while in use. Make sure 4 way switch is all the way off. Even turn on and off a dozen times to clean the contacts in the switch.
