510er
So i have been seeing all these pictures of peoples disk brake conversions... on dimes and everything else... Why are you guys scrapping the dust-shields/backing plates on them? just for ascetics? I powdercoated mine and put them on! im going to be different and keep the crap off my DD brakes :fu::fu::fu: Okay really i want to know why nobody uses them Quote Link to comment

Cuts metal like mad
I left the on when I did the 280zx brakes on my old wagon... Quote Link to comment
Tedman
I trimmed mine down for better brake cooling while still retaining whatever bearing protection it might offer. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I have a Pathfinder rear I'm working on and do not plan to take them off. You can't see them from behind anyway and I don't want water and shit splashing on them. Quote Link to comment
ronnny
I have not worked on the brakes on my 720 yet or my other. They already had disk on the front but on my chevy i left them off so the mud would get out of the rotors faster once you get out of a mud hole. Any other truck was just because of forgetfulness or lazyness. Quote Link to comment
