Yo! So my car is fully capable of starting and then driving but I have to keep the gas pedal active in order to not let the RPMs automatically just go to zero and then fully stalls on itself 😬 Thankful for the help I can get!

This happens when cold? or even when warmed up? I'll assume you have the original stock carburetor.....

Listen near the rear of the carburetor whild an assistant turns the key on off on off on off. (but don't start it) What you should hear is a soft clicking sound. Does it???

Try that and see. This is the idle cut solenoid and if not working gas cannot get to the idle circuit and it will not idle.

There are several other things to try still.
