LDoubt
Anyone know what these 2 relays on my 76 710 are for/what they have in common and why they might be energized while the key is out.  https://www.instagram.com/p/CfqCmTDOog8JvJx6wDVCFq02CqvIDG0f4Q5c5c0/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=  Please / thanks - I miss her 🙂 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I don't do instagram so no picture.  I will say that there should be no relay energized with the key out. Over a long weekend the battery would be quite drained. The only thing drawing power would be the electric clock.  So where are these relays? Quote Link to comment
LDoubt
The relays are beside the battery behind the washer fluid reservoir. If you hook everything back up and undo the 2wire quick connect from the alternator the relays drop out Short in the alternator? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Â Have you replaced the alternator recently? Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
https://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video?fr=yfp-t-s&ei=UTF-8&p=battery+drain+scotty+kilmer+video#action=view&id=1&vid=418de20d5f3335af5d80b045562c43ac  watch the 20 to 45 secs in to the vid.  one can disconnect the fuses or the alternator if you think a alt diode is shorted..or carb choke realy ect..... till the test light goes out Quote Link to comment
LDoubt
I pulled the alternator and took them to our local genius starter/alternator rebuild guy so he should be able to see if there's something to be done there. Electrical is so beyond me, I appreciate all the tips here!! Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
At best this is a guess. Alternator genius will be glad to rebuild it for you. Did you unplug alternator to see if this shut the relay off. Did it occur to you that it might be the choke heater relay? headlight relay? inhibit relay or ignition relay?  Again have you replaced this alternator recently??? Quote Link to comment
