Pull a plug wire, stick a plug in the end and lay it on the valve cover or something that's grounded. Have someone turn the engine with the starter..... got spark? or not???

YES..... nothing further required

NO...... Do the same with the coil wire. Got spark?

YES.... problem is probably the rotor or distributor cap.

NO..... check for power on the coil positive terminal.

YES..... there is power at coil. Briefly ground the coil negative terminal and release. Got spark????

NO....... power, find out why

YES..... there is now a spark, problem with the EI module. Check that distributor is well grounded.

NO...... spark, coil is bad
