FS5W60A in 73 620

Hi, first post here after like seven months lurking.  I am looking for some clarity on a trans swap.  I may have access to a b210 with the FS5W60A 5 speed.  I live in an area with long highway expanses that I would like to use my 73 620 on.  Any chance this 5 speed would fit easily to my L16?  Reading elsewhere on Ratsun it seems like it would but when I look at pictures of the this model trans it seems like the bolt hole at the top left of the rib is to far to the left.  Are my eyes crooked?  Thanks.

The 60A 4 and 5 speeds only fit the A series of engines and not the L.  The B-210 also only used an FS5W63A optional 5 speed, if you have an FS5W60A then it's from an '80-'82 210 car also only with an A series engine. If you were told it was from a B-210 they were mistaken.

This is still a very desirable transmission for B-210, later 210s and the are sought after by MG owners.

The only 5 speed transmission that will virtually 'drop in' is the FS5W63A from the '77-'79 S10 200sx and the somewhat rare '78-'79 A10 HL510. These years all had L series engines.

Okay gents, thanks.  I think the lady doesn't know what she has. It looks like it is a B310 like 80-82?  She swears it is a 78 B210 but the vin plate/tag says

Type: KPB310

Chassis No: JN1PB04S8B9246977

Model: KPLB310EUC (last two digits illegible so may be wrong)

Color, Trim: 809 B

Engine: A15(S) 1488

Trans Axle: FS5W60A HB37

Thanks for the help!

The 17 digit VIN is a give away. It was introduced on all cars starting in '81. From '80 on, the 210 had rectangular headlights. The B-210 did not use the A15 engine. Also says B-310 which is also the 210

Rad Mike, thanks for the info.  I will look for my 5 speed elsewhere 🙂
