Stinky
Anybody know where I could find some info about engine weights? I am interested in the A14 and the Z24. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
L20B is 280. The Z24 block is 3/4" taller, has longer crank throws and longer rods. It has fewer counter weights on the crank than the L20B and the Z head is lighter. It's only a guess but I would say just under 300 pounds. The A14 is a paper weight at just over 200 pounds Club 1200 lists the Z20 @ 350 pounds????? Huh??? It's an L20B with a Z head on it. The L18 looks about right @ 265 pounds. A kilo is 2.2 pounds. http://datsun1200.com/uploads/photos/17213.jpg Quote Link to comment

KELMO
"The A14 is a paper weight at just over 200 pounds" Hey Bro, let's be careful how we talk about "A" motors around here.🤪 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
No disrespect intended. Great 'little' engine. Bought a '76 B-210 new. 1 Quote Link to comment
Stinky
I have a friend that has one sitting in his garage (an A motor). I only saw it once, so I'm not really sure what it is. (12, 14, 15). But, it is smaller than what I want, and I want at least 75 HP. But, I am going to try to get some numbers off it. I have a Z24 now, but it has more weight and torque than what I want....I want the VW trans to stick together. Edited January 6, 2022 by Stinky Quote Link to comment
