bypass hose

On my Datsun 510 the heater bypass hose started leaking. Is there a hose that is available? I researched and came up with Dayco a 70646 does anyone have any information on this ?

Bypass? There is only the inlet from the head and the return to the lower radiator hose.

Oops I call it a bypass hose. It’s the inlet from the bottom radiator hose. Then there is a outlet that goes to the head. It’s a elbow hose. Different size on either end. Is this not a bypass?

By pass would presume to go around something

 

Flow is from head to heater to lower radiator hose.

I copied the pictures with the parts stickers on them but... I looked but couldn't find them. It's really the elbows you want and joints with copper pipe and hose clamps.

I was thinking brass elbow with 1/2 inch barbs. Then put hose on either end. But thanks to all the great information. It’s sites like this that make car dreams happen

Often parts are impossible to find or afford on a vintage vehicle so if you are not a purist, substitutions are a viable alternative. All's fair when trying to keep it on the road.

1970 Buick 455 cubic inch engine thermostat hoses are quite flexible whem it comes to fabricating replacement pre formed hoses.  Even comes braided for that eye candy look.

These hoses when cut to size fit the 510 heater. No idea what they were for originally.

 

 

 

 

 

These 2 are actually the by pass hoses at the intake below the carburetor and the lower rad hose inlet to the water pump.

Check the How To section for my do it yourself preformed hose build with part numbers.  Do it yourself.  I don't need a second set so if you are interested, do the search yourself.  No spoon feed.

Hi  im trying to use a 5/8 heater hose to bend and work. I just saw the last picture the braided hose is the one I need. I’m going to try one or two more ideas.

Save yourself some headache.

 

B7021-A0800 hose, outlet (the one that goes to the back of the cylinder head) runs about $30.00 and is still available from Nissan.

 

B7020-A0800 hose, inlet. Runs about $20.00 and is still available from Nissan.

Sorry it took me a week to get here, I'm a little old and a little slow.

Well I lucked out. I was able to cut the hose where it connected to the pipe that goes to the manifold. I put the hose back on and put on new clamps and woo hoo no leaks.

Man it's been rubber boots weather since mid October .. Even for here that's pretty harsh.

Agree the rain came early but no more than usual for November. However just south of me and the lower mainland got boot fucked.
