Hello, is there any spots in Orange County that anyone recommends to rebuilt the transmission? Very iffy where to take it. Also, would like to lower the gear ratio, due to having stroke engine. Thanks for the help in advance.

Change the rear differential. I assume the 411 has an H-190 rear axle. Mike? If you have 3.889 go down to 3.70 or even 3.545.

Speedometer pinion will need to be changed to keep speedometer correct. What transmission?

Make sure the clutch isn't dragging against the flywheel if difficult to shift. Does it grind going into reverse??? Clutch is also likely adjustable.... try for 1/16-1/8" pedal play. Change the oil, probably GL-4 NOT GL-5. Synthetic oil shifts much better, including downshifting but it can start leaking past the old rear seal.  Eliminate anything outside before thinking about a rebuild.
