620slodat
First off, I'm putting a diesel (SD-22) in the 620 pickup. I'm not 100% sure of the year, but I think it is a 1977 tank. The tank looks very similar to the 1973 620 pickup tank that my dad bought brand new. The tank has been outside in the weather/rain of western Oregon for at least a year, maybe even more (see the pic), so the exterior has to be galvanized. What I'm wondering about is the interior of the tank, is it also galvanized? I've read that the tank is galvanized, but I've never seen pics of the interior. I've also read about the rust problems that others have with the interior, which makes me wonder if the interior was actually galvanized as diesel will eventually destroy the galvanizing. Galvanizing is on the exterior, but what about the interior? Pics, or first hand experiences, will be helpful. Don Quote Link to comment
athoose
If you're worried about it rusting, perhaps clean it up and apply a tank sealer. Although, I'm not sure about the sealers compatibility with diesel. Quote Link to comment
