datzenmike
I assume 2wd so rear only. Axles don't wear out but the wheel bearings might. They are replaceable. Why would you change the axles? What are you trying to do? 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
If it is not broke don't fix it. Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
I'd put full width D60s from a '79 Ford truck, with 42" sticky tires. Don't lift the truck, just cut the shit out of the fenders and cab. 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
The 2wd would have an H-190 which is 7.48 or basically 7 1/2". Good for 300ft lbs of engine torque. Gear choices range from 3.362, 3.545. 3.70, 3.889, 4.11, 4.375, 4.625 and 4.875. There was a clutch LSD option in the early '90 Hardbody, rare as rocking horse shit. Upgrade? Would that be disc brakes and LSD? Ford Mustang 8.8? Has to be shortened to fit, wrong lug pattern but lots of LSD and gear choices and disc brakes. Don't know why anyone would want LSD unless you live in swamp. 1 Quote Link to comment
