720 Tie Rods 2wd vs 4wd

Any difference in tie rods between 2wd and 4wd 720's? they look the same, except 4wd looks to be threaded for adjusting sleeve vs having a clamp style sleeve. i like the idea of the threaded one. Can the 4wd work on the 2wd?

Go to rockauto and look them both up and compare the PNs.

 

Also, there are 2 tab, near the PN, when you pull up a part.  One tab takes you to the manufacturers info.  The other shows you what else the PN fits.

My info shows 2 and 4wd the same through to 10 '82 or the start of the '83 model year with the new Z24 engine, round dash gauges etc. Then the 4wd tie rods are listed separately. They definitely look much different. One has the ball joint pointing upwards the other down into the steering knuckle connection.

Ah ok. I was mainly asking due to them looking different as far as adjusting them. The 4wd is threaded with a nut at each end of the sleeve, I'm assuming for a more sturdy alignment due to the added stress put on it going off road.

In function they may be exactly the same, I could not determine this.
