Its a copyrighted name, they paid for that shit.  Someone else is living it up.

The article says it trademarked here in the States.  I wonder if Nissan somehow missed it, or since they never offered a Skyline here, it might have been fair game?  

 

I do remember the Skyliners from Ford.  

 

Anyway, I have no answers, but thought it to be some sort of foolery..

There's no conflict. The Skyline is exclusive to Japan. I doubt Ford did this to be dicks and Nissan probably will never offer the Skyline here so it's a non starter. Besides they could always offer the Skyline with a re-badge. Bluebird/510, Violet/710, Fairlady/240z.....

It makes me wonder if Ford is thinking of bringing the “Skyliner” nameplate back, and making sure nothing similar sounding comes out. I remember when the HKS drag Skyline first came to America, all the magazines misprinted it as “Nissan Skyliner”.
