Illuminance
Hi, long time lurker, first time poster. Bought a 74 620 basket case 2 months ago, for a resto mod project. Probably paid too much for it, but it had a title so I said what the hell. Have the hub assemblies out, and removed the inner and outer bearings. Received the replacement bearings from Rock Auto. The inner bearings have a "cap" on the race. Don't understand this at all. Thought maybe it screwed off or could be pried off, but apparently not. Obviously you can't put a bearing over a spindle with a cap in the middle of it. Reached out the manufacturer but they did not respond. Am I missing something here? Tried to upload a picture but it won't let me. Here is a link to the picture on photo bucket: https://app.photobucket.com/u/illuminance72/p/1df70f14-05d4-4f40-87a0-3466f5124137 Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
Rockauto is sometimes known for mixing up bearings. Looks strange for a few reasons. Does the new bearing number match the old? 1 Quote Link to comment
