angelmanuel
On a B310, is the cross member for a 4 speed different than for a 5 speed? I am installing a 5 speed in a 4 speed car and cannot get the holes to line up. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
They are the same. Try turning the cross member around so that the front is towards the back? Is the rubber isolator backwards? Quote Link to comment
angelmanuel
I tried both of the things you mentioned, no joy. What else can I be doing wrong? Quote Link to comment

angelmanuel
about half to a full hole out. transmission came out of a B310. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Loosen the engine bracket bolts. That's the parts between the block and the rubber isolators. Might give you a little more wiggle room Quote Link to comment
angelmanuel
will try that tomorrow. Quote Link to comment
KELMO
Wait, hold the phone. What are you installing this on? What did the 5spd come out of? I have put 5 speeds from 210's (B310) into 1200's with not much issue. Well, not much issue. Quote Link to comment
angelmanuel
it is a 5 speed from a B310 into a B310. It did finally fit. only problem is the transmission is extremely close to the tunnel, maybe 1/16". So now I don't have any doubt that the crossmember is different. Quote Link to comment
