rcwidower
I’ve got a port in the passenger side of the block, near the front-bottom that goes into the oil pan. This is not the dipstick port, which is closer to the rear and higher up. Not sure what is supposed to go there, maybe a “blind plug” listed on the parts manual? However, I did not remove a plug from there, maybe the machine shop did? It’s not a port going to any kind of galley, so not sure why they would have. Can anybody help shed some light on this? datzenmike
Probably for front mounted dip stick, not used in North America. If open, seal it up. Here's one... http://datsun1200.com/uploads/photos/6773.jpg Quote Link to comment
rcwidower
Makes sense, probably was a plug in it and got removed. Thanks Mike Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Yes, some blocks were drilled with multiple dipstick locations. Get the tapered plug and smack it in. If you're thinking of sealing it with RTV, don't do it. It won't last. Quote Link to comment
rcwidower
I ended up tapping the hole and putting in a plug with some sealant on the threads. 1 Quote Link to comment
