buckeyenut
Hey Y'all I bought and installed a clutch kit from o'reilys , their economy name brand. However, the pressure plate seems to be slipping and making screeching/whining noise as I accelerate. The truck is sitting on lift and 31inch tires. Seems I might need a "heavy duty" clutch kit. Any thoughts and recommendations? The one I paid for was a power torque brand $134 1 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
I have run power torque clutches for years. Including on my z24 powered 720s on 31x10.5s. I'm not saying they are the most amazing product on earth but you dont need a heavy duty unit for what you describe. I drive my 720 in mud and snow, in 4x4, loaded with 8 bails of hay in the bed, 2 to 3 times a week without any clutch issues to go feed horses. She doesnt live the easiest life. My current oreilly clutch is a few years old now. It sounds like you got a bad unit or something went wrong with the install. Is the sound metal on metal? datzenmike
Seems to be slipping, or IS slipping? In second if you step on the gas and hold the brake on, does the engine rev up but you don't accelerate? Did you replace the release bearing???? 1 Quote Link to comment
