Just a quick interior pic thread....

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know of a good shop in the Central Florida area that can help restoring my 720 ?

Mechanicly itis all repaired, now I want to redo the interior.

It is in descent shape , but I would like to really dress it up.

I also need a little body work done due to some rust especially in the bed area.

I took some pics of the rust spots and a few others to show engine and interior.

I will post them in the next thread.

How come I can't post pics ?????

Here is a few shots of my interior. Just got the back seat in and the door panels recovered. New dash. and recovered the arm rest for the console. Pretty happy with how it turned out.

the headliner in mine was like that when i got it, the dash bezel was destroyed so i did a little metal work and ended up with that, really didnt take long at all, if you want one find me a good dash bezel and ill make one for you

You just got a grinder with a flap disk and lightly let it "skim" accross right?

that would work yes, i used one of these... http://www.matcotools.com/ProductImages/se355k.jpg

with the disc that is pictured 2nd in from the left. they are used for cleaning up gasket surfaces. The next thing im going to try is putting it in a drill press and trying to achieve this pattern

510er that's a great idea. I'm going to try that this weekend. in my bridgeport mill. I did this one free hand.

This pic sucks. But I did the same thing you did on your dash.

I think I'll try some 3M hard discs and see how it turns out.

you can use it by hand to get your dash to look like mine or you can put it in a drill press and or mill and achieve this affect, here is a small sample

that is an excelent idea! ive been tryin to figure out where to mount the amps in my car right now. the only issue i see with that is proper ventilation because amps get hot and having 2 in an enclosed area might fry them. not sure if you had any plans for that but giving you a heads up.

How did you mount them in their, I see MDF but whats that screwed too?

or, used a heat gun, and thinner vinly so it goes around it better, or maybe foam instead of rope, good idea though, btw i have the EXACT pad that u used to make the circle designs...

Also let the contact cement dry a little longer on both the vinyl side and the wood side, untill it's just barely not tacky anymore. And then press all the edges down real good (while keeping it warm with the heat gun) with the top round edge of a bondo scraper or such.

And here are some pics from a 720 we built like 17 years ago.

8-15's,

4-10's

4-8's,

3 sets of mids and tweets

and 11,500 watts of power!

with 11 batteries to power it all.

CAN YOU SAY BOOM!!!!
