loungin112
Hello out there. I picked up a stock radio (with chrome Bezel!) a while back and have started fixing it up. The unit powers on just fine. But, there is a switch on the bottom of the unit that needs to be rewired. Anyone got a schematic that can assist in this endeavor? Or, in the absence of a schematic, a couple of clear photos? The switch has to do with the input signal and without it wired, does not have reception/signal. Thanks for the help! 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
Post some pictures of your radio so we know what radio you have. Quote Link to comment
loungin112
Here are some photos to guide the conversation: Front: Back: Note the Model Number. And, the switch in question, which I don't even know what it does, is on the right. Closeup of the Switch: Schematics and/or photos of the completed connections would be greatly helpful. Thanks Ratsun. 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
I will look and see if I still have a factory 521 radio. I think This is Matt has a radio diagram. He has a OEM NOS radio I believe. 1 Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
I had a NOS oem radio kit, but I sold it for a ridiculous amount on eBay 🤣 I have some snaps of the install instructions/diagrams, but don't think there was a schematic. 1 Quote Link to comment

Thanks Ratsun. It seems that switch is usually taped over and should be a grounding polarity switch + or - ground I found the schematic located at https://elektrotanya.com/hitachi_tm-701-ba_all_transistor_auto_radio_1969_sm.pdf/download.html#dl be careful what you click on if you go there I got several warnings hitachi_tm-701-ba_all_transistor_auto_radio_1969_sm.pdf Edited January 5, 2021 by Ooph! 1 Quote Link to comment
loungin112
Thanks Ooph! I tried to use the link you posted and my antivirus software said Nope! Couldn't navigate to the info. Still on the lookout for anyone who might have a 521 radio laying around. Crack it open and take a few pictures. I'll do the same in this discussion thread as soon as I get it up and running again. Thanks in advance. Quote Link to comment
