Cluster light sockets

Hello all, anyone know where to get some? Or an aftermarket replacement? A few of them fell apart. Thank you

So how many sockets are needed?

Mine are in ruff shape too just wondering how many to buy without having to pull my cluster...

Get like 20, which is over kill if nothing goes wrong. But it takes about 6 in one and 3 or 4 in the other, then backlighting too, so 20 just to be safe in case some break on you with the turn of bad luck.

 

Fuel guage, misc

2 backlight

1 oil

1 ebrake

1 battery

1 temp

 

Speedo

2 backlight

 

This is for a 620, no specific car was on op. So sorry if its for a diff car and if my memory is off for the cluster. Its been awhile since my dash tear down.

It's my experience that they are too dim to begin with and I can't read the odometer at night. The dimmer switch is a joke as it's always maxed out and still not bright enough. Try brighter wattage or even LED 'bulbs.'

521 cluster uses 9

I don't remember on the 521 but most North American imports have to meet DOT standards, which included dim-able dash lights.

No, unlike your Bimmer turn signals, the 521 doesn't actually have an instrument dimmer.

The '73 620 didn't even have dim-able dash lights and the '74 and '75 only dimmed the heater controls wtf????? Wasn't till '76 on the 620 that the dash lights were capable of being dimmed.

I have LEDs in my cluster and basically useless at night.  And my BMW changes it’s interior lights from white to orange depending on whether it’s light or dark out.

I run cool white led in mines, they look decent if the cone covers ever clean...

Post a pic because mine look just like the pics in DIY section. Dim at best.

Mine were dim till I took the green covers off the board.  Then, they got very bright.

Maybe too much bleed through from removing the white paint on the lense filters but it's the correct stock color just brighter.

im running led lights on my speedo cluster and tail lights, front turn signal lights and side marker lights

FFS that is way brighter than mine.
