fiveoneO
I've been researching this engine a lot lately, thinking of putting one in my 510, and I keep reading how this engine can make upwards of 250hp. I've only been able to find 2 dyno graphs and both put this setup around 170hp at the wheels and around 5500 rpm max. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this engine and what kind of power your getting out of it? Or if you have any experience with a VG33 I'd like to hear about that as well. datzenmike
I can't find any VG engine as a VG34. Only up to a VG33 Quote Link to comment
fiveoneO
The VG33 has a pretty beefy block and can be bored out to around 3.6 liters without any issues. People bore them out and run VH45DE pistons which gives around 10-1 compression and a displacement of 3.4 liters. 1 Quote Link to comment

fiveoneO
Sorry for the confusing title, I'm better at wrenching than I am at communicating, just ask my wife. Basically I was wondering if anyone in this group has built a VG34 and what their impressions are. Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
I haven't ever seen a vg34 build on here. You might have better luck on pathfinder/truck forums for the engine itself, but there are vg swapped 510s on here so plenty of info on the actual swap. By the time you are in that deep, what is the advantage over a vq35 swap instead? Quote Link to comment
fiveoneO
Thanks Lockleaf, I'll go talk to the pathfinder guys. Why the vg over the vq, price mainly and I imagine the vq is physicly larger than the vg. Vg's seem to fit nicely in the 510's engine bay. Quote Link to comment
