Eiles
Hi all Was hoping to get some info from forum members on the extent of asbestos used in the 410/411 Datsuns. Someone has previously noted that asbestos fibre is used as padding under the fuel tank straps. Any other locations that should be approached with caution? Any info appreciated. Thanks Eiles '65 411 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Can't see why it would be on the tie down straps on the gas tank. SUs had it on the heat shield. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Though banned only in the last 20 years in the US, after market pads from India and China still contain it. Canadian brake pads still contain it. If working on brakes assume that they contain asbestos. When I do, I limit exposure and wash the entire brake assy. with carb cleaner and rinse it off, never compressed air. 1 Quote Link to comment
Eiles
Yep, I'm always wary when handling brake parts even though items containing asbestos are not allowed to be imported into Australia. 👍 Quote Link to comment
