rutsun
Hey guys I have a 74 710 and as I’m looking under the hood I noticed that the secondary side of the carb never opens, even when I open the throttle full and the engine revs in neutral. I know it is controlled by a vacuum solenoid but should it open when I do this? Or does it need load on the engine? I have also noticed that that side of the carb does not look like it ever pulls anything through it. Quote Link to comment

banzai510(hainz)
Rev motor up then put your hand over the main side of the carb and the 2ndary will open up for a second or so. if your good you can rev it up put your hand on over the main barrel and the 2nd will open and put your finger on the plate and keep it running with second barrel Edited September 8, 2020 by banzai510(hainz) Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
It's hard to simulate a load without driving it. I hold the throttle just over half open (engine off) to release the interlock and then push up on the secondary vacuum rod. If it's free to move then all OK. The vacuum diaphragm is in the round cone shaped thing with the rod on the end. Quote Link to comment
