Dirtyowlnumber4
Does anyone know a reliable place to buy shoes? brake shoes that is. i have tried the part stores around here, but none of them have fit. i bought a few off the internet but they were the same. the hole where the handbrake hooks on and the spring goes through were in the wrong place. it would be neat to get some of those on so i could do some rad handbrake turns and take the load off the cheez it front pads Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
There was a big change in the rear drum brakes from ' 77 on. Both use the same hand brake and it's a linkage that pulls a toggle that reaches in through the backing plate and engages the rear most brake shoe. Sound right? Quote Link to comment
Dirtyowlnumber4
yep its got a little finger that sticks out and grabs that one shoe. i tried to modify one of the shoes i bought once but i remember i couldn’t get it to sit in the drum right. they would fall apart inside the drum. datzenmike
Thar little toggle is held in place by the wheel cylinder. Yours are similar to my 710 but mine is at the bottom and the B-210 is at the top. Mine pulls the rear shoe and I guess your pulls on the front shoe. The '77 and up shoes have a really different part number, what's your year car? Probably wrong shoes. Quote Link to comment

Dirtyowlnumber4
Sorry i got sidetracked here they are. the handbrake connects on the right shoe on the bottom. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
This is identical to my 710. Brake adjuster at top and wheel cylinder at bottom. E brake toggle on rear shoe. This is the right side so rear to the left. Do you have a picture of the ones that don't fit right? Quote Link to comment
Dirtyowlnumber4
i dont but i could go pick some up if it would help. i remember the hole that the handbrake connects too was pretty far off, and so was the one that holds the shoe against that plate. Quote Link to comment
