BobbyDatsunGuy
Hi I'm new here, I've been eyeing this Resto-mod 510 for sale. I see that it has the Rebello engine which is great, and supporting mods like Wilwood brakes. Anything I should look out for? Any input is appreciated! Thanks in advance. https://www.thedrivenexchange.com/product/1970-datsun-510-resto-mod/ Quote Link to comment
Draker
Looks like a quality build. It will sell for a lot. I don’t see anything wrong with it. Quote Link to comment

4perrev
Looks nice. Look underneath and the rocker panels for rusted spots. Behind the wheels are also good spots for rust. If they person did a good restore, then, they will have covered all of the spots listed. It would be nice to find a turn-key 510 for sure!! Quote Link to comment
BobbyDatsunGuy
Thank you for your input everyone! What do you all think that a fair value would be? I'm considering hopping in on the bidding.... Quote Link to comment
Draker
California... restored non-swapped but built L motor... $25-$40k would be my guess. Quote Link to comment

Yes. 2 door is more desirable. I would ask for before/during restoration pictures. If they just bondo slapped the common rust areas then the paint & body work is worthless. 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
This is what happens when an 'enthusiast' with money owns a Datsun. They rely on someone else's attention to detail and things fall through the cracks. If... the owner got his hands dirty for the experience of changing his oil, it calls into question his knowledge of how poorly these crap filters are made. If he paid to have it done his choice of 'jiffy lube' was wrong. Bet it's full of 'off the rack' low ZDDP oil too. Nice car. BobbyDatsunGuy
Only 1k miles with the filter, so hopefully not enough time/mileage to mess things up too much.... thanks to all who pointed it out though. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Shitty oil and filter damage is accumulative. Any oil is better than no oil. A good ZDDP level is better still. Quote Link to comment
john510
With only a thousand miles i wonder if the engine builder put that filter on ? Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
Crap maybe I could have gotten more for my 510 than $5000 1 Quote Link to comment
edekalil
It does look nice from the photos, but I have too many 2 donor's for now. 1 Quote Link to comment
Jesse C.
It's not bad, but, it could you use some better detailing. Touch up the rust, fill the holes in the dash, clean up the wiring and pedal assembly under the dash. AND GET RID OF THE FRAM! Quote Link to comment
carterb
Sold for: $22,500 Quote Link to comment
john510
A different oil filter would have made a big difference on the final price.LOL. 2 Quote Link to comment
Duncan
I've seen that car in person, and the Fram filter is the least of it's problems.... Quote Link to comment
