Jakes Makes
Hey there folks first time back on this forum since I built my 521 a few years back. You may have seen me on fb selling various 3d printed parts and I thought it would be cool to share a little on the back story of one part im especially proud of. Quote Link to comment
Jakes Makes
Heres some pictures showing the development of the badges. It all started with getting a very pitted but still usable badge. After getting the part scanned, I was able to rebuild the cad model to a proper shape. ^^^The golden colored part is 3d printed metal (stainless steel with bronze binding agent) Pretty neat right? Picture above is a in progress picture of the CAD model. Edited July 30, 2020 by Jakes Makes Quote Link to comment
Jakes Makes
Fast forward a few months and I get in touch with Hung Vu at WIO Motorsports who has connections to get these cast in metal, chromed and painted to the same pantone color as original. And what you see is the final product, thanks for checking out the thread and if you or someone you know is in need of one of these there's still a couple available for $150 with free shipping 2 Quote Link to comment

Nice looking parts! Well this doesn't have a logo or anything that's a trademark such as the Ford oval or Harley shield. Might fall under a design or utility patent but I highly doubt if they thought to do that considering the small numbers originally produced 2 Quote Link to comment
