Since I am reasonable, the potential criminal, civil, and social penalties are sufficient deterrent, to seeking confrontation. But, when there is destruction and ignorance mobilized to instill fear, I "appropriate"  "black culture" and wish the motherfuckers come to my neighborhood, wish the police feel unappreciated and stay away.

Yeah they haven't done too bad.

The best example of free market boom is Vietnam.

Vietnam figure out working on collective farms wasn't working  and people working harder than others just got  pisst  off who go the same.

I personally wouldn't deal with Vietnam as they (China above all)  we fought them and  had a stale mate and I just wouldn't deal with them. Have Democratic elections then do the free market economy and deal with them.

this is all water under the bridge now

A  collective is a group of entities that share or are motivated by at least one common issue or interest. Sort a like Ratsun😉

Are you feigning understanding that datzemike employed  "collective " in reference to the socialist/communist practice of controlling populous though "forced" communal living  and not a damnation of every group of free individuals seeking a common goal.

It would take more time than it is worth to breakdown the etymology of the term and I hate dragging Webster into adult conversations.

Vietnamese do not like CHINA at all, unless its the most furthest point of north Vietnam that is still friendly. They dislike China even more than the US. After USA left China and Pol Pot's Cambodia tried to invade.

Vietnam is the most favorite of all my trips over seas. So I am a little bias.

That psychological shit don't work on me dude, when I was having my heart attack I was not upset at possibly dying, I actually told them twice(calmly the first time) as I had to repeat myself since I got no reaction from them the first time when I said "if my heart quits beating for 5 minutes DNR", I got no response, so I said again quite loudly, "IF MY HEART QUITS BEATING FOR 5 MINUTES DNR, DO NOT RESUSCITATE", I got a hesitant "ok" the second time, later I was told basically that is against their religion in hospitals, but I was not coming out of that hospital with brain damage.

I am not afraid of dying, I am afraid of falling off a roof and being crippled, but I am not going to go downtown Portland and get myself killed either, I am not suicidal, I don't want to fly a Trump flag on my vehicles because I am afraid that the Democrat dominated area I live in will retaliate against me by pulling my license to do business or have people start destroying my property(Datsuns in the driveway), my neighbor is a Democrat fanatic, all my neighbors are Democrats and I do not have a party, I vote for who I think will do the job and lately I have been voting with term limits in mind, he has shot his pellet gun from across the street into my house aiming at my water wheel that turns 24/7 in the pond in my front yard, I have a bunch of pellet holes in my ceder siding behind the water wheel you see in the attached photo of the way it was back then, the second photo is of the way it is now, he tried burning his house down last October and we don't get along anymore, it is an abandoned house now, the driveway is still full of the insulation from his attic from when the firemen put the fire out, he just put a tarp over it and called it good, it is likely an asbestos insulation based material, nothing has changed over there since the fire except for people going onto the property and stealing stuff and he has decided it is my fault people are stealing from him, I sorta hope he does nothing and sells the property to someone else.

The last photo is of my garden taken a couple days ago from the highest place on my roof, I am proud of my garden, it has automatic watering, and it is set up in such a way to keep weeds from growing, the dirt between the rows does not get wet/watered.

Is it a good low cost vacation spot? About a decade ago, I traveled all around Europe and the Russian satellite countries. I discovered that places where the dollar was strong, were much more fun.

Thankyou, I built the pond back in 1998, the rectangle pavers are to hold the liner in position, below are photos of the pond back in 1999/2000, I made the wood water wheel from scratch, it had a bench seat all the way around back then, I had such a terrible time keeping that wood water wheel turning, it was so heavy it went thru bearings like crazy, one day I came home and it had split in half, that is when I found that 4' wide wire cable reel at my friends house cut up for scrap, I got all the pieces needed from him and made the red wheel that exists today, I think I have only changed out one bearing in the last 5 years, that wood water wheel lasted over 15 years.

Its an amazing place to go. I have friends who are dual citizens, so we got to see a little extra away from the usual tours. The dollar goes a long way, and the hospitality is great. If you go take the USA / Vietnam history tours. The perspective from their view and ours gives a really good lesson.

They HATE communists but cannot voice that they do, or  will face deadly or life altering repercussions.

Thankyou, it has 22 year old Koi in it, it used to have goldfish also, but the herons cleaned them out.

It took years but the weeds are under control now since only the plants I want get watered, I still have to pull weeds out of the rows of strawberries, but it doesn't really take that long, the rest I only rototill once a month maybe, I used to have to till it every week or more when I watered with a sprinkler.

In the photo below you can see how I am trying to water now, each strawberry plant gets water.

Yes sir that is fantastic! Pride in ownership which none of these savages looting have. Your own little shangrila built with your own labor and money congrats you should be proud of your landscaping. On another note I sailed to Cuba in 2001 on my own boat. The tourist crap which caters to the rest of the world was doing ok. Unbelievable but other countries can do ok without the US's blessing, but the corruption and bureaucracy stifled any real inspiration of making it ahead and no real reason for trying. Most Cubans lives are not pleasant and any different opinion than the governments will only add to your misery so you just go along. It was an eye opener and I realized why so many where willing to risk 90 miles of rough ass gulfstream in an inner tube to make a better life. These morons burning and looting have no idea of how lucky they are and how good they have it living in the USA. None of these Fuckers have traveled abroad to experience how the rest of the world  lives

I said Cuba, as a whole. Low crime fair education and good health care. It's not great but it isn't NK. The US inherited Cuba as a spoil of war but let it go it's own way other than holding onto Guantanamo Bay. About 50 years later it had a civil war and turned communist backed by the USSR.The US had an economic stranglehold up until recently. It had a total ban on trade with Cuba and probably encouraged other countries to do the same. The USSR bought all (or most) exports and supported them financially up until the fall of the Soviet Union. With the elderly Castros gone (soon) as well as communist Russia there really is no reason today for animosity between the US and Cuba anymore. Things should get even better.

Ask a normal Cuban citizen how "good" life is and get back to us.I'm also curious how the U.S. has strangled them ?

You could ask some US citizens the same thing about their 'oppressive' government. It is rather communist and everyone longs for 'freedom' whatever that is today. To Cubans I would say be careful what you wish for. Again, things should slowly get better for the Cuban people.

The key to Cuba's relationship with the US is the Castro's.

They brought us and the world to the brink of annihilation and I am glad that one principle this nation has held onto for 58 years is to hold them responsible.

President Trump has re instated many restrictions on Cuba and rightfully so, as the Castro family still holds power and they have not instituted reforms and in fact have proven themselves hostile to the US by endangering the health of US diplomats by some sort of radiation (rf possibly).

Probably a condition of aid from the USSR was missiles. It's not like the US didn't put nuclear missiles into Turkey in '59. (it may have caused Russia to do the same in Cuba) Part of the agreement after the missile crisis WAS the removal of these weapons from Turkey. This is on top of all the SAC bases in Germany, Great Britain, Egypt, Guam, Japan, Greene and about 10 more ringing in Russia. Don't blame the country or the people blame the Castros.

I'm perfectly aware of how Mike employed the reference, it was a feeble attempt at humor. Ever heard of it.
