I wrote nothing about being against fracking n don’t need the moral high ground.

 

The point by person who started thread was the prez was responsible for higher gas prices n gave three reasons why.  I attempted to show those reasons were false arguments.  We seem to agree that supply n demand determines gas prices more than other tings.  I blamed it on producers (oil price not high enough to support more production (prolly due to competition)) n traders (making money where they will).

 

We are in more than enough agreement, fracking is all about natural gas. In fact, if you suck oil, when pulling the stink water, it can fuck up your daily totals. It takes extra time to return oil (if there is a bunch of it) and extra time on site is frowned upon (trucks are chipped and when, where, and how long you're stopped is monitored and logged).

Utah is a good State, they leave your guns alone and where I was working is amazing beautiful.

I know that I have posted this before, but once an area has been fracked, it is closed for most recreational use and becomes a kind of nature preserve. Shifts are a minimum of 12hr (14 with equipment paperwork and commute). Whether, on the day shift or the night shift, you are privy to the sunset and sunrise. The air pollution, from everything, makes spectacular sunrises and sunsets and both are excellent times to see game. I saw more trophy deer, trophy antelope, trophy elk (at least a half dozen royals) and mountain lions, in the wild, than anytime in my life.

I am a bit defensive about fracking. It is a shit job and I am thankful, not to be doing it and it is awful awful for the environment, but I am also thankful the opportunity was there when I needed it. I am not rich enough to give a shit about the environment on a State or National level. The wealthy, the young, and the liars, who try to shame such rationale, haven't known hunger, but once Harris is in office most will be introduced

Just to be honest, I didn't create this meme; came from one of my daily news/opinion reads. I just wish I was that sarcastically brilliant. The more I look at that image the more that I see. How many felt like the look on the the lady on the left's face the day after the, so called, election last November ?? To give a little clarity on the port fiasco, at least in California.

Don’t believe the news! They manipulate info more often, and very little of the news is truthful these days. Here is pertinent info I copied off a page I follow. It was from a commenter.

“The NEWS says the California port situation is caused by a driver shortage.

Not so fast: It is in part caused by a California Truck Ban which says all trucks must be 2011 or newer and a law called AB 5 which prohibits Owner Operators.

Traditionally the ports have been served by Owner Operators (non union). California has now banned Owner Operators.

Long term, truckers in California are not investing in new trucks because California has a law that makes them illegal in 2035. The requirement is to purchase electric trucks which do not exist.

So basically, the wage is not payment for your service since your service is "for free" and your wage is pure income profit.

 

The original income tax was for investments, interest, dividends and such.  And now it has become a juggernaut.

 

NOTE:  Trump was going to change cost basis of cap gains with an adjustment for the cost of money.  If you sold your house you bot 40 years ago, the profit calculation would be made all in 2021 dollars.
