Shit I am glad to see us pull out. 20 years, thousands of American lives and billions of dollars wasted on trying to civilize a bunch of tribal primates. These people have been killing each other on a regular basis for hundreds of years. This whole peace in the middle east is a waste of time and energy. They don't want peace. The Taliban wouldn't be taking over if the people didn't want it. The corrupt puppet government was not supported by the people, cost us billions only to crumble to nothing in days. We need to stay out of these barbarians countries and quit trying to civilize them. Now if a terrorist attack comes from one of these cat litter box countries unleash hell on them from the sky and don't spend our money rebuilding their shit.

If Alexander the Great failed, why did we expect sucess ?  The Afghanis had a great slaughter of invading British troops also in the 19th century.

What about the Russians? They got boot fucked by the Afghans.... with some US help. Guerilla warfare favors the guerilla. If you know where the enemy is and can attack them at will they cease to be guerillas by definition. A guerilla army is extremely mobile and fluid, avoids one on one fighting, it may employ civilians as well as blend in with them, raid without warning, use hit and run tactics and sabotage. Because it's unknown where they can strike, an invading army must use use excessive manpower and equipment to protect everything under their control. Guerilla armies are usually fighting for their own country while invaders are.... invaders, disliked by the general population. This is a powerful incentive.
