Adding or losing a congressional seat in a state does not necessarily equate to a political advantage. The demographic of Texas booming population over the past 10 years has been predominately in blue districts and communities of color. It's also how the traditionally red state of TX is growing itself into becoming a swing state. 

 

Shifts in Congressional seats really only matters in the swing states of Michigan and Pennsylvania. In that respect, given the districts with growth in these states, their seats could give Republicans a huge advantage.

 

 

See all of those blue dots for Cali ? One of them will probably be gone.That's the great news.Better than the alternative.Will it matter in this state ? probably not because people can be stupid when it comes to voting.Texas should be fine.Those going there are trying to escape the politics of Democratically controlled states for the most part.

Yes, the dots illustrate the point I was making to refute the assertion that Cali & Tex's sifting seats actually mattered to either party. I think what people in California are trying to escape is having to spend more than half their income for a rat shit tiny place to live; which is a product of supply vs demand and this state's crazy success with that whole free market capitalism thing.

 

When I was a kid my dad worked as a welder, and our house half way up into Mission Hills had a view from down town SD to Point Loma. When I was about 10, Pete Willson (R) issued building permits for a bunch of sloped sandstone land usually covered in pickle weed, like the space in front of our house. Thanks to Pete that view was replaced by a burnt orange stucco wall of the three story apt complex built 3ft from our property line. The irony is, 25 years later a large portion of that ugly ass turd box fell into a sinkhole that had developed from drainage issues; common danger of soft sandstone. It was also the reason the Army Corp of Engineers didn't recommend it for building, let alone residential multiunit housing.

 

It was money from G. Bush senior's Savings and Loan industry bailouts that put SD's slimy human cootie Willson in the state Governor's office. He then started waving his rezoning wand in all directions pushing urban sprawl out into the boonies as industry payback. Add his limp dick "Little Hoover Commission" eating up barely enough funding for CalTrans to prop up our crumbling highways, and 28% budget cuts to our already underfunded school system, and you have a recipe for disaster. I agree my perspective on this may a bit subjective, but I think it's ridiculous to suggest it's only Dems who F'ed this state up a tree. And for anyone who suggests Cali should rezone and build its way out of the gridlocked uneducated housing crisis situation our already overloaded economy has created, I respectfully request they rent their extra space to a burnt out Californian.

Hmm,what i'm doing to destroy America ? Let's see.Go to work to support my family,pay my taxes,take responsibility for my own behavior,take care of my own healthcare needs,treat others as i expect them to treat me etc.etc. As far as the straw goes,we banned them here in Cali didn't we ? Instead you can get hypodermic needles to shoot up your drugs with.And even a place to safely use those drugs without risk of arrest.Those policies were created by who ?
