Thanks for the offer but I'll get my wife to drop me off at the access center and I can easily walk home from there Tuesday. It's only 5k along the RR tracks. Hopefully they don't want any eye exams BS. When my dad was in his 80s they started to throw road blocks against his renewal. It's to keep 90 years olds from driving. Discrimination! He let it lapse and had my sister in law take him shopping. Car at the time only went a few hundred klicks a year anyway.

Had jury duty last week, didn't get picked for any trials, kept getting screened out. One was a trial for a DUI, and how it is hard to get by without a car (no real public transit in my State) They asked me about it and I said if convicted of a DUI you should only be allowed a motorcycle (or trike) license. Alibaba has a nice selection of moped trikes with canopies. Same for getting too old or unhealthy to pass the drivers test. Those moped trikes don't go over 40 mph and have a cargo section that would hold groceries. Idaho is one of the last free States (no helmet law) so you could feel what's left of your hair blowing in the wind on a sunny day.

DatzenMike got it right, we're falling apart, but for entirely different and the same reasons. I have to keep my blood thin because of a HIGH heart rate. It hovers around 100 at rest. They gave me medicine to slow it down, but then I am tired all the time. I've been living fast, but somehow dodged dying young.

Wow.That is fast. What did they say that causes that?My heart shakes and skips.I had to wear a Heart monitor recently for 2 weeks.I also had to do a echo?I am 65 and still work.I plan on retiring at 67 or 68 I take B12.I have alot of energy.I love working in my yard..My hobby.

Life expectancy used to be around 30 years, just enough to procreate and raise them some. Now living well over twice that long. Things wear out.

How long has your heart rate been that high?

Has the pill helped lower your heart rate any, how long did/have you been taking it?

I had the same issue, resting heart rate was close to 90 beats per minute, I had been sick for a while by then, didn't sleep for a week straight once, I had pneumonia, then my pneumonia would not clear so I had to go thru 2 rounds of antibiotics, anyway the cardiologist asked me if I had any concerns, I said it would be nice if my heart was not racing all the time, she jumped on that and gave me a pill to control my heart rhythm, I took the pill for 3 months and finished the first prescription, my heart rate had not really dropped much, I got a refill and by the time a week had went by I was having side effects of Atorvastatin which I do not do well on, I quit taking it and a while later my heart rate started going down, it dropped into the 60 something beats per minute range over the next few months, since my heart rate was good I did not tell the doctor I was not going to take that pill anymore, when she found out she had a spaz attack, it is policy to have everyone on a statin, does not matter if you need it or not.

OK, this is how she explained to me why I needed to get my heart rate down, when your heart beats fast, it cannot fill up properly beating so fast, if the rate can be brought down to a slower rate, your heart can fill up with more blood for that single beat, and it will move more blood in your body with less effort.

This all said, I do not trust this doctor anymore, since I would not take that statin on my next appointment she sent someone else that lied to my face trying to get me to take that pill to control my "heart rate" that gave me the statin side effects, I have lifelong issues/side effects/pain because of statins.

Here are some of the side effects I had, major joint pain, clearing my throat constantly, coughing up this light green stuff all the time that the doctor claimed it was acid reflux disease(it was not), it got to the point that I thought I was going to die, I bought a grave plot and head stone, then I fell off a roof from the pain and I quit taking that statin, a week later the pain mostly went away, but lifelong damage had been done in that 10 months, I looked at that doctor and said, "I asked you which pill was the problem", he lost interest in me, I got another doctor after my next appointment with him, he is nothing but Democrat doctor enforcing a Democrat Vermin policy.

The only places I have got any real genuine help has been the Peace Health and Legacy Emergency rooms, they are there to save your life, everyone else has Democrat Vermin policies.

I did a lot of reading after my 2016 heart attack, the doctor said it was my second one but that is another story, I read a lot about why and who had heart attacks, most people that have heart attacks have high blood pressure, high blood pressure expands ones blood vessels and they get cracks/tears in them, then ones cholesterol fills the cracks/tears up, but you still have high blood pressure, so this goes on over and over until you plug up and have a heart attack, I do not have high blood pressure.

I am not a doctor, I have lived my life with the gas pedal floored most my life, it is a freaking miracle I am still alive right now.

I've heard similar things about handing out statins.  Probably just drug company propaganda that doctors are bombarded with.

While it's very possible some doctors may vote Democrat I don't think there is a 'Democrat vermin' policy. That's some fucked up conspiracy shit right there. It is, however, important to have a physician you like and trust, though you don't have to like them as long as they are effective.

No way... they are all incompetent. No one hates Trump like I do, no one. In fact everyone should hate him for something he is, or has done. What you MAGAs have yet to realize is that Trump won't be around for ever, but YOU will. Like old Nazis they will hunt you down and shave your heads. Maybe even something to tell everyone what you once were...

DatzenMike, DatzenMike, I do not consider myself a MAGA, but I find Trump the better choice by a very, very, wide margin. Your indoctrination is showing and possibly, so is mine. Yours when you mention the "uprising" where folks that still believe in America are "hunted" down and mine because I would welcome it.

I am against statins as well, not a fan of blood pressure medicine either, but I take it or the Dr. holds my healthcare hostage. I've had good luck at the Not Really Free Clinic. It is always busy and understaffed or staffed by student and new Doctors. It is triage, which suits me fine.

Why I don't like professional auto mechanics, they put their machines on one of my old rigs and a dozen "serious" issues pop up and the new mechanics want to replace this whole system or that whole section and big money.
I will take a shade tree mechanic any day, we can talk, what needs to happen to keep her on the road.

Doctors are the same way, like my old cars, I have a shit ton of problems and half the time the side effects from whatever medicine or procedure is worse than the problem. So, I like the overworked Dr. who is tired and gives a little less of a shit, what needs to happen to keep me on the road Doc. Not what might happen, not what could happen, deal with the problem at hand and if it still don't work then I will come back.

My heart has been fast, since 1999 and truly, deeply, from the bottom of my fast beating heart, I don't care. I don't smoke, I don't drink (I would, but it has been years since there has been a party with people I would want to drink with) No illegal drugs. But, I eat meat, red meat, wild meat, and lots of it, rarely do as Dr's command, if I ever get my bike back together, I will not wear a helmet and I never wear a seat belt.

That was a life shocker that I never contemplated in my youth and I am glad I was ignorant of it, because the realization really fucks with the mind. I have already worn parts out and complained to the Doctor, because I didn't abuse them. Doc said, sometimes things just wear out, genetics, longer lives of today, it is how it is. Man, what a mindfuck, so I quit worrying about it. I keep the gas pedal pushed down, because I like it like that and ka sera sera.

I am on high blood pressure meds and I am doing good with it.Also on Jardiance and clesteral med.I am a pre diabetic.I have to watch my sugar intake.I have a good Doctor. This is my high blood pressure medicine I take.

Losartan (generic for Cozaar) is a widely used prescription medication—an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB)—that treats high blood pressure, reduces the risk of stroke in patients with left ventricular hypertrophy, and protects the kidneys in Type 2 diabetics. It acts by relaxing blood vessels to improve blood flow, usually taken once daily. I take a 50- 12.5 MG tablet once a day.Ventricle hypertrophy is the thickening and enlargement of the heart’s lower chamber walls, usually the left (LVH), due to chronic overwork from conditions like high blood pressure or valve disease. This structural change makes the heart stiff and less efficient, increasing risks for heart failure, arrhythmias, and sudden cardiac death. Treatment focuses on managing underlying causes through lifestyle changes and medication.

That was directed at MAGAs and MAGA sympathizers only. Indoctrination? I have no party affiliation, perhaps slightly GOP which is meaningless being a Canadian. However I do have a sense of what constitutes a disgusting person with poor character. Eventually the crows WILL come home and there will be an accounting for past crimes. Probably a Nuremberg. This shit stain on your nation cannot be left to stand. Repent now (somewhat like Tucker)

Here's just one example of Trump's poor character and corruption...

Genetics do not change is several generations, or in several thousand years... we are stuck with what we are. Some are luckier than others. However, like a Datsun good upkeep, regular maintenance and new improved products will extend our service life farther than the maker intended.

Oh was it just tooo BLUE for you???? If a Democrat says 1+1=2 does this mean the facts are not true?

If you want some dirt or to be pointed in the right direction, go ask the competition because your side won't tell you or will lie. If buying a car go ask GM what's wrong with your choice of Ford. They will tell you shit that Ford won't. Then, armed with this, go back and confront the Ford dealer and then decide. Same in politics.

Yes, Trump is the definition of asshat, but neither can I abide the other side nor some wide spread Numberg bullshit. The best thing either party could do next election is take the high road. If it is the Democrats they won't get my vote, because I remember (it was only 10-15 years back), people being fired left and right over accusations of racism, sexism and every other ism, truth didn't matter, the mere accusation created many problems, same with domestic violence. A Numberg situation where people are losing their jobs or shunned for voting for Trump-Na, fuck that.

Why I mentioned "indoctrination", from your posts, your final option is far from mind, mention Numberg and it becomes very present in mine. If I was denied employment, healthcare, service in restaurants/stores because individuals were attempting to punish or force a change in my beliefs. I would find that upsetting, engage in a more active solution than writing a strongly worded letter and I guarantee, without a moment of hesitation,  I wouldn't be the only one.

It is my observation that Canadians, by in large, have grown accustomed to the "benefits" of government, to the point that fighting is not and will not become fathomable until the death of millions (e.g. Russia) force rebellion. It is the rationalization of the reduction of individual liberty and the tightening of your noose, that I blame indoctrination.
My indoctrination is a single man or a small group can change the course of history through calculated violence, that the sacrifice of one to save or to kill many is honorable and the tree of liberty is nourished by the blood of patriots.

We both have our realities, or fantasies.

Not for voting Trump, but for those in power furthering his bullshit. This would be anyone he hired to work for him and could extend to those who could have done something but chose to turn a blind eye. Basically the same as rooting out Nazis after WW2. "I was just following orders."

There is one and only one forgivable reason for overthrowing your elected government and that is if you are successful. Not suggesting this. Eventually history will move on. I remember Watergate and it's eventual outcome. Seen a lot of things but NOTHING like the last year. Nothing even comes close.
