Recognizing freedom of the individual and the autonomy of humanity, I do not advocate a WWII style extinction and sincerely believe that freedom will eventually erase tradition. But in the short term, the old ways have the upper hand, fighting the old ways with more deliberation is foolishness and hubris. Truly, the audacity to believe there is some pathway to peace overlooked by generations of the world's smartest, will present to the next generation and to insist on that fantasy in the face of suffering and death. 

Lives are lost without reason, pain extends without end. Pragmatism-the USA has benefited from allegiance with Israel. I have read articles exploring the outcomes of allegiance with other groups in the Middle East, but it would be determent, logically, to shift. Israel has demonstrated a willingness to control the entire Middle East region. It is the best interests of the USA to broker favorable trade and military agreements with Israel, supplying their effort to control the Middle East. 
Problem solved. Israel will fight the old ways and the soft Western world can sleep through the night.  
 

I admit, that in another hundred years, the conflict may resurface, but I will sleep soundly knowing that the hard choice of a short and bloody conflict, purchased a century of peace and there is a equal chance, in hundred years the world will be so changed, or so damaged, the entire issue is moot.

I wouldn't believe him if he said the sky was blue. His constant exaggeration and stretching of the truth leaves him with zero credibility. Almost 7 months later still waiting for him to end the war in Ukraine on day one of his presidency.

 

Politicians always promise to lower prices on food for the average Jane Shmo trying to make ends meet. The people to ask are the homemakers who foot the bill. I think it fair to say the price of groceries is a weather vane of the economy. Fuel, rent, inflation, salaries, transportation and now tariffs all factor into what you pay for them. Keep in mind that it doesn't follow closely the political climate, there is a lag as cheaper things get used up and the added costs are included but still a good yardstick. A healthy economy should not see people bitching about the high cost of living.
