zrex
An fyi regarding the ACDelco 252-018 water pump. The front machining of the pump doesn’t have the correct step down for the alternator bracket. At least on my 85, I probably could of used a cut off wheel to remove enough material to get the bracket on but decided not to. First time I’ve had a Rock Auto part not fit out of the box. 1 Quote Link to comment
bottomwatcher
I am curious what the country of origin is on the box. Aisin brand is what you are looking for. 1 Quote Link to comment
720_Jeff
I'd say, good luck finding Aisin. WPN-027 OR WPN-042A are the part numbers. The dealer still has the water pumps available. Not cheap @ $160. It is said, the cast iron impeller is the kind that is preferred. Not so easy to find, as many of the images for the water pumps are often stock photos, so you might think your getting a cast iron impeller, it might not be. datzenmike
Factory aren't cheap because it includes the integral clutch fan. Just a water pump is about $60 but to convert you need a pulley, an adapter, bolts, and fan blade. They make more noise and waste gas. 1 Quote Link to comment
