Suki68
I’m changing out my crank seal. I’m trying to get my crank bolt loosened on my J13 and cannot get any leverage. The pulley turns. Any ideas on what to do? Quote Link to comment
wayno
Block the tires, put it in gear, impact is better. I have heard about a way of using the starter and a breaker bar but don't know the details. I assumed the engine was in the vehicle, if not in the vehicle get a long piece of flat bar and drill 2 holes in it to mount on the flywheel so one end hangs out and will hit on the ground, that will stop the engine from turning. john510
The breaker bar and starter trick or an electric impact gun.I did it with the starter and it only took one quick turn of the key. 2 Quote Link to comment

Draker
I've done it before. Just make sure the engine spins clockwise if using the starter trick, otherwise you'll be taking a trip to the machine shop. 🙂 1 Quote Link to comment
