620KC on 720 bare frame build

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I have been reading these for quite some time. Figured a pic of my project with 22,k miles since rebuild; 202,000 rough total miles on chassis.

2020 I finished, and have been constantly adding new stuff. 1985 720 4x4. Body lift, lipo4 batter conversion with a 3-Phase electric motor. ALOT faster than the 4-cylinder before.

Gotta do a photo dump soon, been working the ol' noggin on stuff and picking away at several bits. Lots figured out in details and putting to practice. Got a rough timeline again for it being on the road this summer, some will depend on timing for paint & body, not my forte to do. Biggest challenge ahead & has to wait for winter to be over, is building the box.IMG_3507.thumb.jpg.9404dae595f74a1a97a30446fb35e2a3.jpg

Carpet ordered today.

Been busy with work, little time on the project but had some success today. Putting the interior together, custom formed panels etc. plus sorting fabrics and colors. Totally lucked out today with my idea for cubbys for the inside rear corners.

While pondering how to make them and options for materials (wood/plastic/metal) and how to make, an idea popped in my head about some plastic bins I'd been given. Figuring the size to be close, I used a template and found them too big in 1 dimension. Shopped online without much success until I found a close match. Went to the store to check them out and found something else I wouldn't have thought of.

Damn these are a good fit. Perfect side-side and a little shy top-bottom but they're stainless steel and the insides are nearly flat, not as sloped as most I'd looked at. Bento lunch box.

Being metal too makes these far easier to mount up. Still have to figure out the outer "lip" that will keep stuff inside the bin, but that should be bloody easy now.

Ding Ding!!

The outer lip could just be your cover panel.

It's very narrow, but I'll figure something out. I'm thinking the lid might be able to function as the means to hold stuff in, after all the fit is snug
