Blocky
Hey guys I joined the forum this morning. I've been plugging away at this project for a few years off and on. I hoped to get some good shop time in while all this covid stuff going on, but I broke my wrist last Saturday. I'm going nuts finally having some spare time and not being able to pick up a tool. I've been meaning to start documenting some of the build anyway so I figure this might make it feel like I'm making progress lol. *Will continue to update with more photos and improve the post. I know I have not done the best at documenting progress but as I have more time I will go back into further detail* Chassis: -floor raised about 2 inches -new subframe mounts and frame connectors -spare tire well deleted -s13 fuel tank Suspension: -s13 subframes front and rear -BC digressive coilovers -Z32 brakes front and rear -PBM drop knuckles front and rear Driveline: -Q45 3.54:1 diff -Z33 axles -R154 trans -ClutchMasters FX350 Engine: -VVTI 1JZ -Titan V2 ATI Crank Damper w/ ARP Bolt -Titan Billet Tensioner Bracket -Gates Timing Belt -EFR 7163G turbo -DOC Race T4 divided exhaust manifold -BC 264 cams -BC Valve Spring Kit -BC Adjustable Cam Gear -New VVTI Gear -Supertech shimless buckets -Radium fuel rail and regulator -Injector Dynamics ID1000 -Titan Flex Fuel Sensor Kit -Homemade Intake Manifold -Z33 DBW throttlebody Interior/Electronics: -AEM Infinity ECU -ECU Masters PMU16 -Speedhut Gauges -Vintage Air HVAC -NA Miata seats Step One: Build Rotisserie and cut floors out Step Two: HVAC Speedhut Gauges mounted (Don't worry, I have a nicer dash) Building the Intake Manifold: Engine: Stay tuned for dyno results, interior & exterior. 5 Quote Link to comment

BrothersGarage
That intake is fucking sick. Custom speedhut gages looks fantastic. 3d printed pieces to make parts work 1 Quote Link to comment

Blocky
Thanks guys! I'm excited to get the engine back in it and get it tuned. After that I'll likely drive it as is for a bit to work the bugs out. I'll try to do a better job of documenting pulling it all apart to do the body and interior. Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
I'm curious, why the floor pan mod? Quote Link to comment

Most of what was removed in the first picture was a strange mixture of rust fiberglass and undercoating. In other words the stock floor and sides were rotted. When I rebuilt the floor I went straight inboard from the pinch weld to the trans tunnel. I'm not sure if I'll ever do it at this point but the thought at the time was raising the floor would allow room for underbody aero and diffuser. This thought process also influenced the odd rather high placement of the fuel tank. I don't have a good pic that shows it but everything (lines exhaust etc) is packaged in the tunnel above the frame rails and trans cross member. If I ever do want to go back and make aero parts I should have a good starting point. 1 Quote Link to comment
Blocky
Been slow going lately but I did manage to get the exhaust tacked up. 2 Quote Link to comment
Blocky
Gonna be lazy and copy my FB post: Today was awesome. Finally got the Datsun on the dyno and it did everything I hoped it would. Double D Tuning was super helpful and patient while we chased issues for the first half of the day. Ashley (Fiance) was a super star running around for parts and keeping me sane. I wouldn't want anyone else by my side. I wanted to keep it conservative on pump so we stopped at 400. On E85 the goal was 500. It did it on the first clean pull after we had two people sitting in the back to prevent wheel spin, but fuel pressure was dropping. Luckily Adil (friend at the shop) had a drop in 525lph pump. We did one more pull again with two dudes in the back and it wheel spun to 527 with solid fuel pressure. I'm on cloud 9. This is a long time coming for me and the car did exactly what I hoped it would Also...does anyone have a level so I can measure them torque curves? https://photos.app.goo.gl/ui3DA1hXp1bK851f6 2 Quote Link to comment
