Theballinstallin
I am currently trying to order new pistons and connecting rods for my l20b engine but i am having the hardest time trying to find any any that fit or that look like they be close. If somebody is willing to point me to a website/parts that work or the specs i need i appericate it 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Con rods don't wear out in regular use and they are reusable. Are you looking for an over size piston and having the block bored? Should be able to find after market over size ones. Have to ask... what's wrong with the ones you have?? 1 1 Quote Link to comment

Theballinstallin
i was gonna find one to send a picture of but ive lost them but they had very deep groves on the bearing surface 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
What's stopping you getting the spare one out with the other three already out of the way? Unbolt the big end from the crank and slip a bar down past it to the under side of the piston and pound it out. Probably will loose the piston but you will have the rod. Then get a set of oversize pistons for the rods and bore one of those blocks to the oversize. You would never pound metal on metal on the rod ends to drive them out of the block. Better to bash on the piston bottoms. Or place a block of wood over the ends to protect them. 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Connecting rods from a Z22 engine in the 720 truck are also the same as the L20B. Just in case you have one. 1 Quote Link to comment

420n620
got L20 rods/pistons in my ad. Buy 1 or 2 or all 3. Just let me know through the ad, not from this post. Send zip code will be helpful also. 1 Quote Link to comment

In addition they are 2mm wider diameter. You could over bore the L20B block from 85mm to 87mm and put Z22 pistons and crankshaft in. This would now make a 2.2liter L20B. AKAa 'stroker' L20B 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Pins are totally re-usable. They are a slip fit in the piston but press fit through the rod small end. I pressed some out of L20B pistons and was 1,200-1,500 PSI hydraulic pressure. 1 Quote Link to comment
john510
New pistons should come with wrist pins.I would not re use a wrist pin unless in a bind. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I should have said reusable on the original pistons. 2 Quote Link to comment
