Are they now claiming this because they realized Omicron is NOT nearly as serious ? They had to go back to the Delta variant to keep the ball rolling ?

I think the Omicron is massively more transmissible and probably has less symptoms and much less deadly. By the time it was discovered it was likely half way around the world already. When they say a surge, it's really the Omicron that is driving the surge not the Delta one. If true and I don't see why not then the sooner we all get it and get over it the sooner we have acquired immunity. Immunity from Omicron I believe also gives immunity from Delta, the bad one.

 

The whole reason for existence of a virus is to replicate. If you don't spread easily or kill your host then this is counter productive.

The thing is there really seems to be no immunity. Apparently the vaccines don't seem to provide immunity and people who already have covid seem to be able get it again. This craps here for good.

It 'disappeared' because people were distancing, washing hands, wearing masks...... who would have thought that that was all you had to do??????? Well in most work place washrooms is a sign saying exactly that, but who does it???? Co-vid got rid of the common cold and flu, or almost, just from these simple 3 things. Co-vid may eventually end up about on par with the flu and the cold, an annoyance that comes around every winter.

This puts you on a treadmill of needing a booster every month or so to stay "protected" as the effectiveness is only good for a short time (couple of months) and then drops to being WORSE. Of course no pharma company would ever set it up so that you have to take their product forever.... oh wait.
