angliagt
I subscribed because it was too cheap to pass up. I got a letter today saying that it's discontinued. Sad sign of the times. Quote Link to comment
FrankRizzo
I remember when they just came out and were trying to beat C/D and R&T. Jeez, now I feel extra old.... . 1 Quote Link to comment
MattSheldon
That is like 9 auto mags in the last 2 months. I do fine with technology, however I still prefer printed media. 3 Quote Link to comment
VFR800
The magazine industry has ALWAYS been a tough as fuck competitive market but now with the net it's even worse cause the % of old fucks who would want to have the hard copy to read are more and more now underground or cremated. 4 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Adapt or die. This applies to the magazines and old fucks. I like reading on the shitter so a mag is great, but I don't buy them anymore.. Back in '69 and '70 I had a subscription to Hot Rod magazine. This was about two years before the end of the muscle car era. Time moves on are they still around? trying to call a '75 low compression 165 hp Corvette a hot rod? 1 Quote Link to comment

a.d._510_n_ok
I subscribed to Automobile from 1994-1995. I still have the issues on the shelf. Those issues gave me my first exposure to Jeremy Clarkson and the old cars in Cuba. Custom Rodder and Popular Hot Rodding died a few years back. I subscribed to Rod & Custom a few years back and started getting Hot Rod 1/2 way through with a note saying R&C had died but that Hot Rod was "THE ORIGINAL THAT STARTED IT ALL!". A buddy of mine said the exact same thing happened to him when R&C first went tits up in the early 1970s. Hard pass on Hot Rod. Personally, this was my all time favorite mag: 2 Quote Link to comment

Duncan
I just got a letter today telling me 2 of the 3 mags I subscribe to are now tits up. They are offering me a digital subscription to just 1 magazine, but I have to choose one from three that are available. You'd think they'd give me two, but I guess it's better than nothing. 1 Quote Link to comment
Jesse C.
Paras Newsstand, which was in operation for over 70 years, is now closed. Due to health issues, but also a decline in Paper/Magazine buyers. This was the place to go for that obscure or hard to find magazine. And if they didn't have it, they would order it for you if possible. Sucks now that Barnes and Noble is basically the only game in town now. 2 Quote Link to comment
