angelmanuel
For the popular front strut swap, can Z31 300ZX struts/hub/spindles be used instead of 280ZX stuff? I can get the Z31 stuff readily and was wondering. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I think you can if non turbo. Turbo ones are 5 lug rims. Quote Link to comment
angelmanuel
I think they might be a little shorter which is not a bad thing. My concern was do they bolt on to the steering arm and ball joint. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I think they will, anything above the 69' 510??? has the larger bolt pattern? Kind of going by memory. I'm sure they have been used and the S12 struts Quote Link to comment
angelmanuel
Thanks Mike. I guess I’ll try them Quote Link to comment
scooter
i think the pin angle is different on z31 struts Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Strut to hub angle? Most are 10o including the zx but not the 240/260/280z. The 300zx might be different but I think I have heard of them being used on Datsuns. A 4 lug 280zx hub will fit the 300zx. Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
Pretty sure no, you can't directly swap 300zx. It's been a while since I was researching this issue, but I'm almost 100% sure it's not a bolt-up affair. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Maybe what I'm thinking is using the 5 bolt hubs on a zx strut. Quote Link to comment
