Goodbye
Hello everyone. I recently moved back to the beautiful San Joaquin Valley after college and finally have the time and space to get to work on my dear 2+2. I bought this car when I was 16 about 7 years ago and have been lurking Ratsun since then. This feature on Speedhunters (http://www.speedhunters.com/2009/11/car_feature_gt_gt_that_240z/) is the reason I wanted a Z and I spent an ungodly amount of time looking at ComicArtist’s build on here when I was in high school. When I went looking to buy a Z I came across this 2+2 and fell in love with the body style. I bought the car in decent condition from an older woman in central California. In high school I had s13 coilovers and welded McKinney Motorsport mounts installed that got it near the ride height I wanted. I also got myself some 15x10 steelies and knockoff ZG flares that I embarrassed to say I installed myself. I didn’t know what I was doing at the time but I had a lot of fun doing it. I also put a straight pipe exhaust on it. I drove the hell out of it until I went away to college in the Bay Area. https://imgur.com/fi5hYNP When I finally got back to the car the clear coat had disintegrated and some surface rust had started to spread. Luckily it didn’t take much to get running again. https://imgur.com/lW3RzgE The car when I got back. This past weekend was spend gutting the interior except for the dash and starting some body work. I’m going to try and remove the tar insulation with dry ice later on this week so I can paint the interior steel. I’m going to go with a really minimal stripped interior moving forward. I also took off most of the emblems and molding and patched those holes. Also fixing some dings and dents around the car hoping to paint it this next month. https://imgur.com/RT2kAhj https://imgur.com/XDS8z9E https://imgur.com/4QbnsIG Removed side molding and emblems https://imgur.com/XBPAZah Cut the springs while I wait for new shorter springs https://imgur.com/qJrQ3Ti First time using bondo 1 Quote Link to comment
Z23T
I dig your car, but that 70's "Safety" bumper has got to go. Quote Link to comment
