Not fond of iridium plugs or synthetic oil. Both are too high tech for a simple 45 year old technology engine.

Did you check AT the end of the plug wire? or at the coil?

Where are you? your profile isn't filled out. Is it cold or freezing near you? Is the choke closed? Look at the glass on the front of the carburetor, is gas showing?

The word "at".  Spark at the spark plug versus spark at the coil.  Irridium plugs are high resistance and shouldn't be used in a carbureted system.  They are designed for use with coil-on-plug.  You need low resistance plugs and wires, or your spark quality suffers greatly.

Add fuel - see if it starts.  Starting fluid.  You need fuel and spark, so adding fuel will tell you if its a carb issue.

most likely points situation.

cheack for spark at the coil wire. take wire out of center of distributor cap and place near chassis. crank over and see and feel for a spark. If yes then its good. if NO then ck the points for gap. wire loose  fuse for ignition if no dash lights

see if gas squirts in carb. yes or no. If no then no gas.

then adjust the valves or see if lash pad fell off.

This is a simple fix

the coil wire does have spark where would the fuse ignition be because my fuse box under the sterring the right side is melted probably excessive current. there is no dash lights only turn signal lights. gas does squirt Im probably going to try all this with the new spark plugs thanks.
