frankendat
Is that a belt driven power steering pump on this 720? Also, is that a "power" brake booster on the right side of the fire wall (right when facing) or is it for a hydraulic clutch. Finally, is a 1982 720 that makes this a Z22? How do the dimensions, size weight compare to the L20B? 1 Quote Link to comment
TimmyG
Power steering yes. Power brakes yes. Hard to say if it's z22. The z22 has an aluminum valve cover and is usually silver. This one seems like that blue paint might be chipping away to reveal silver underneath. Can't tell for sure. You'd have to look at the block between the exhaust manifold. The engine code is stamped there. I've not owned any L series truck so I cannot comment on that. 1 Quote Link to comment
wayno
Yes that is a belt driven power steering pump, and yes that is the power brake booster. The Z22 and the L20b are basically the same block and likely weigh about the same, but the L20b has the intake and exhaust on the drivers side and the engine is tilted towards the passenger side. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
After over 35 years a Z20 or a Z24 could have been swapped in and that Z20/22 valve cover used. Look below the #2 and #3 spark plugs on the exhaust side... 1 Quote Link to comment
