Too far gone?

Wondering if the bed on this 82 Datsun 720 is too far gone to be saved. I know it's hard to say for sure just from pics, but I could use some opinions. I don't have experience with rust removal. Thx

That's nothing but this is a problem with the 80-84 trucks that had the seam where the bed floor meets the two outside panels. The '85 switched to a one piece side panel.

Yeah I'm familiar. Just don't know if this old bed is too much work. I don't know how to go about removing rust inside the seams. Possible?

Not really, the seam is spot welded. it would need to be sealed on all sides

That is light rusting compared to some I've seen lol. 

 

Wire wheel, rust converter soaked into the seam, proper sealing primer and paint should fix that right up. 

You will need clean the metal about 1-2" into the paint to make sure you get all of the rust.
