datzenmike Posted August 6, 2019 Report Share Posted August 6, 2019 That's nothing but this is a problem with the 80-84 trucks that had the seam where the bed floor meets the two outside panels. The '85 switched to a one piece side panel. Quote Link to comment

The '85 switched to a one piece side panel. Yeah I'm familiar. Just don't know if this old bed is too much work. I don't know how to go about removing rust inside the seams. Possible? ]2eDeYe Posted August 6, 2019 Report Share Posted August 6, 2019 That is light rusting compared to some I've seen lol. Wire wheel, rust converter soaked into the seam, proper sealing primer and paint should fix that right up. You will need clean the metal about 1-2" into the paint to make sure you get all of the rust. 3 Quote Link to comment
