I'm waiting for John to grok it

And grok he did.  While we were discussing the plan, I kept having the nagging feeling that I was going to hate something.  That something was the stock radio area.  We had installed a blanking plate over the radio hole and now it's just... a blank plate.  I knew I was not going to like the controller stuck out on the dash, in an area that didn't fit its size, while having that big blank space in the middle of the dash.  I thought the multi gauge clusters in the two big holes, with just blank dash on both sides, and the controller in the radio area, would look better.  So we took the EFI controller and had a look at how well it fits the radio hole in the "new" dash.  (Oh yeah, the dash I ordered off of e-Bay arrived as well.)  It turns out the EFI controller sits perfectly on the ledge around the double DIN radio hole.  Whoda thunk?  I decided that blanking the three gauge holes and mounting the controller in the radio binnacle was the go.  So, John has the new dash at his house and will 'glass up the holes.  I drove the van home and am even more convinced that this is the right way to go since I realized my hands on the steering wheel actually block the current fuel and oil pressure gauges.  Speaking of gauges, mine are "in production" at Speedhut now.  They will probably ship next week... I hope!
