issafantasticvoyage
This is my first Datsun and am looking to scope out a Hakotora "type" build or a pandem rocket bunny build for my 1971 521. I found this little gem in Southern California and with a quick tow got it home. Check out the photos of the truck when I picked her up. Quote Link to comment

mainer311
The Hakotora front clip was meant for the Sunny, not the 521. They’re a bit different. That RB kit must be fairly expensive. Quote Link to comment
issafantasticvoyage
lol those are my two dilemmas... Any ideas on something in between as far as an aero kit? I found an awesome rendering of what I have in mind. https://imgur.com/ZuqGxfy Quote Link to comment

BrothersGarage
Nice looking start! Just an FYI - I am pretty sure the RocketBunny kit is fiberglass - if that's the case just wait for a 'knock-off' kit via eBay and see if you can get them for half that price. As far as Hakotora kits - I know there is a guy on the Facebook group for Datusn 521 Owners - that is based out Thailand that was doing 2-3 different fiberglass kits for 521s that included an Evo style hood, and more - but those kits were also starting around 2 grand. Either way you decide to go, I will be following this build thread closely! Edit: Here are the links I was talking about because I'm a fuckin' insomniac Facebook 521/520 group:https://www.facebook.com/groups/208028716062395/ The guy that does fiberglass front-end conversions - may have been wrong and does 620 kits, but you can hit him up: https://www.facebook.com/PanchKits-1476528065715065/ Edited June 25, 2019 by BrothersGarage 1 Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
clean motor set up. Personally I would just leave it as is. Maybe replace the Kingpins first Quote Link to comment

You're right the blue images are the render, but the kit is legit (don't know abut the buy link). The authentic kit is fiberglass: more info: http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/tokyo-auto-salon-japanese-tradition-in-car-form/ Quote Link to comment
d.p
First time seeing that, looks real good. But its just unpainted chin spoiler, fender flares and rockers from the back of the front wheel to the end of the bed? Link directly from Pandem USA for less than that Greddy website: https://pandemusa.com/products/pandem-datsun-521 Shipping via air still $650. Interested to see the individual pieces especially the flares because they just look tacked on. Edited June 25, 2019 by d.p 1 Quote Link to comment
BrothersGarage
Fiberglass the entire thing and the flares are likely riveted on. For an example the owner of the red truck and designer in question flew to the US and helped Hoonigan complete an install: 1 Quote Link to comment
