Wow! Blue 100 amps?  What the hell on the vehicle needs 100 amps? I can weld with that.

 

Have fusible links from 81 to 84 720's, they are all different and they all attach to the wiring harness in different ways.

 

Was thinking of just using an inline fuse system to replace it, cheaper to replace.

 

Don't think fuses are available in that rating, though.

 

Any suppliers or dealers with those? Not many 720's left in junk yards on Vancouver Island.

Fusible links are to protect in case of a catastrophic grounding of the electrical system in a severe accident. It 'blows' like a fuse rather than the wiring lighting up like a toaster. The great thing about a fusible link is that they don't blow instantly so a sudden brief surge doesn't hurt them. They do take 5-10 seconds to fail and the Hypalon coating will melt but is resistant to burning.
